Hi everyone, talking to my father recently he mentioned an occasion when someone tried to steal something from Shentalls fruit and veg place on Queen Street, Whittington. It would have been in the nineteen thirties. He remembers everyone chasing the man along the street, and feeling quite sorry when he was caught. My dad would have been in his teens at the time.
