Hi June Clutching at straws here, but I have a SMEDLEY connection in that my 7GGF, Robert, married Rebecca COOPER in Ockbrook abt 1693. Their daughter, Elizabeth SMEDLEY, married William DOWMAN in 1724. this is a complicated line, as there are several women in it who eventually connect with my GGM, Rachel STEVENS, of Ockbrook. Hello Joy Am only still in the 19c with my Smedley's. Hannah Rose was born in Mickleover 1851 = Joseph Storer there in 1873. Ockbrook isn't a million miles away from Derby (about 10 I think) so perhaps the further back I go I might find a link. There are a fair number of Smedley's in Derbyshire. Kind regards June
