    3. Hi, I am researching the WOLL( spelling variants found so far include WHOOL, WOOL, WHOL) family who arrived in Chesterfield around 1867. They lived at Stonegravels where George found work as a striker or forge labourer George and Catherine WOLL (nee GEIS/GEIG) came to Chesterfield fram Hachenbach, Bavaria with their daughter, Catherine ( "a babe in arms"). They married at Holy Trinity April 5th 1869. Frederick ANDREWS and Emma ROE (?) were witnesses. Catherine and her brother George were christened at St Mary's 2nd Sep 1869 (according to LDS records). Baby George died the following year. Selina was born 18th Mar 1871. Selina, Catherine, and their parents are in the 1871 census for Chesterfield. In 1874, James Woll was born and he died of convulsions age four months on 23rd July. BUT by this time, Catherine appears to be a widow, working as a housekeeper. The informant, present at death was Emma BATTER (?) of Barracks (?) Row Wittington. I cannot find a death for George (snr) under any variant of WOLL. However, his widow married Henry Hunter in 1876 in Newbold and Dunstan and the family moved to Coventry. Being in Australia, I rely very heavily on LDS films but I have been unable to get a film of St Mary's records. The LDS catalogue shows one but when you receive it the film number is correct, the title on the film is correct but the records are all Holy Trinity. I reported it to them but heard nothing back. Were Holy Trinity and St Mary's and All Saints the same church? How can I find out about the death of George (snr) when I can't find his death certificate and the LDS church records appear to be wrong? What other options are available to me in Chesterfield (from this distance)?
