    3. Hello Mary I'm not an active family history researcher, so I'm afraid I don't know all the correct terms for the subject! I posted on the newsgroup as my sister is interested in the history of her cottage in Chesterfield (she's trying to find out about all the people who lived there before her and has now gone back as far as early 1900's!!) I now live in south Derbyshire, however as I grew up in Stonegravels I know the churches you mention. St Mary's & All Saints is the main church in Chesterfield, famous as "The Crooked Spire" and Holy Trinity church is located about a mile away on Newbold Road (when I was at school, we had all our carol services and school commemoration day services there!). I've just seen a couple of the replies you've already had from the newsgroup which may give you the information easily, but please let me know if I can help. Maybe I could ring the minister at each church and ask for the details you're looking for? My parents and sister still live in Chesterfield so I could even ask them to call the the church in person. Good luck with your research!
