Hi Everyone, I am new to the list, and will provide details of my interest in Chesterfield. My POXON family resided at Chesterfield during the early part of the 20th century, especially in Schoolboard Lane. They were active in Ilkeston from about 1864, when John Poxon of Newthorpe married Mary Jarvis of Stanton by Dale. John and Mary were my great-grandparents. John was the verger at St Mary's Ilkeston for many years, and the family had a strong association with the Church. John died at 32 School Board Lane in 1923, Other addresses mentioned include Brockwell Lane. Does anyone have any connection with this family? Regards John Poxon
