If you have relatives from Cumbria or Lancashire that were involved in commerce or textile manufacturing, you find this book extremely interesting. It is very well researched and contains hundreds of citations. Rev. Rigg tells this story by describing the lives and times of the players. The major problem with this book is that it is scarce. I have found copies at the following university libraries: Harvard, Princeton, Univ. of Toronto, Univ. of Newcastle, Oxford. (I have the Harvard copy now on inter-library loan.) I would like to buy a copy, but the only reference that I can find now on the web is a 1995 list of reports and publications that had been donated to the UK Parliament. I have also found 2 books by this author at the British Library. The title mentioned above has a Shelfmark of: YC.1995.a.3214 If any of you are aware of a bookstore that may carry this title, I would be interested.
