Can anyone confirm that a Cumbria FHS 1851 booklet for Dean does NOT exist? I've had a look at: http://64.177.198.178/genuki/cfhspub.html and can't see one there, so am presuming the Census hasn't been transcribed for that area. The original records for Dean are available on LDS film. A new subscriber is interested, so here are the film numbers: 1841 0241276 1851 0087115 1861 0543209 1871 0847446 Chris chris@dickinson.uk.net

Chris, The November 2002 issue of the Cumbria History Society gives a list of 1851 census awaiting publication. Dean is one of these. Barbara Smith, the census co-ordinator, says that of the places listed as awaiting publication 99% have been transcribed. Mel

Now that's frustrating - the transcription has been done but isn't yet available! Chris chris@dickinson.uk.net
