Hello, On a Church of Scotland burial registry in (old) Huntingdon County, Canada a man was described as a "Native of Torres, Cumberland." I don't recognize the name of the witness so I'm not sure how acurate it may be. I couldn't find it on any of my old map/old gazetteer sites ; but a number of options come up on new maps. One is in Northumberland, hard on the borders of both Cumberland and Scotland. Is the witness mistaken or was this in Cumberland at one time ? Regards, David
