Dear List, My GGGF, James TELFORD, was born in CARLISLE, St Cuthbert's Parish, abt Aug 1800. He enlisted in the Royal Sappers as a Drummer at age 10, and married my GGGM, Mary Ann NUGENT (1804-1870) of Ireland in Quebec City, Canada in 1825. He is believed to be the s/o William and Mary [BOOTHMAN] TELFORD. They were married at St Cuthberts in 1797. PRO shows he was a member of the 9th Battalion, Royal Artillery and was born in BRAMPTON, Solport Parish abt Nov 1775. IGI shows a marriage of James TELFORD and Elizabeth JOHNSTON, 06 March 1775, BRAMPTON. [ William's father???] Will appreciate any comments on these connections and any info on siblings. Thanks much.
