My husband's gr grandmother, Hannah Briscoe, has on her death cert. parents Daniel Briscoe & mother Hannah Harper of Cockermouth.Hannah Briscoe was born July 1839 in C'mouth. Have found no record of a Hannah Harper b between 1815 - 1820 in Cul. Can anyone suggest anything? kind regards Judy Marsden

Can anyone suggest anything? A couple of possibilities that you can explore. Harper may have been Hannah's married name rather than maiden name. In which case, you need to look for a marriage between Daniel Briscoe and a Hannah, rather than a birth or baptism of a Harper. Hannah , even if she only married once, may have been considerably older than you are assuming. What was the date of birth of her youngest child? Not all women married before the age of 25!
