    1. [CUL-CAR] Argentine Emigration
    2. John and Jill Coulthard
    3. I have been given a copy of a marriage certificate for William Ratcliffe and Frances Walker who married 13 August 1881 at St. Bees. Both were aged 21, William a Stoker of Egremont, son of James a Tanner and Frances a spinster of Moor Close, St. Bees, daughter of William a husbandman. I understand that the couple emigrated to Argentina where William worked on the railways. There are apparently no passenger records in Argentina. Can anyone suggest any other line of approach? I have tried the Emigration website but the only query relating to emigration to Argentina around that time has been left unanswered. I have no personal interest in this other than an Isaac Mossop was named as a witness at the wedding though he does not appear to have been a relative but I will pass any suggestions on to the enquirer. He is asking if any record would be kept by the port, ship, passport office or railway company. Any ideas? Jill
