I have just obtanined the death certificate of my 4 x grand father. He died in Longtown workhouse. My query is that my 4x grand mother died in the Penrith district one year later. Is it possible that there was a workhouse in this area and that they were seperated because they were in single sex workhouses? Is there a good website concerning workhouses? Thank you for any help.
