    2. Liz, It's always of help to learn. Thank you very much for the response. I'm not sure I'll ever understand the inter-twined system <G> Your quote says it's a parish from 1546 ; the Britannia quote (c.1826) makes it sound like a chapelry "till the late years". That term is open to interpretation. Has anyone seen where a vital (ie Baptism or Marriage or Burial) was in one PR and another vital for the same person could be in another PR ; aside from an actual move? As I type that it hit me - can that be ascertained? Both of the parish of St. Bridget's. On 9th December 1745 at PONSONBY CLEMENT MOSSOP of Calder Abbey, St. Bridget, yeoman married ELIZABETH JACKSON of Farmery in the same parish, spinster by Licence. I know from subsequent events and wills that the girl's correct name was ELIZABETH and she was most likely born in Haile. In which church did they actually marry I wonder. Surely not a quick dash between the two to make sure? Not in their own parish church either. Just thought I would drop this pebble into the pond.... Jill
