Hi David......... Welcome to the Lists. Like you, I have an 'abysmal' knowledge of where towns are at in CUL.......and my darlin' husband managed to throw my excellent Atlas out with the newspapers (he will pay dearly for that one......grin). Anyway.......a few points of interest re your research and mine. I have a couple of films at the LDS on indefinite loan for Flimby & Camerton. I would be happy to look up anything if you wish. Once Xmas is over as our local FHC is only open for another 10 days and then reopens Jan. 7th. As to your Rebecca Ewart, let me know where she was born (or lived) as I have some good Canadian sites and I can forward the links to you. One of them is just a goldmine of information......right down to Barnardo children that came out to Canada. My Canadian ancestry is Prince Edward Island and Ontario.....so can help out there, if that is where she is from. And last, but not least........several of my BOWNESS ancestors were from Kirkton, Dumfrieshire......so we have a lot in common. Cheers........Heather Brampton, Ontario. Looking for any BOWNESS or ALLANBY names in the Whitehaven and Flimby areas at the moment......but I do believe John Bowness is from Planet Zarg, as Malcolm B. thinks his are. We both seem to have ancestors that appeared out of nowhere. > > These are my interests in Cumberland.
