    3. Is anyone connected to the Carlisle branch of my Fraser family? My information comes from a circa 1880 family tree which, though not altogether accurate, is usually pretty true with the other branches that I have been able to check. John FRASER b Saline, Fife, Scotland in 1770, a 'mechanic' in Carlisle who married Ann JOHNSTONE in Carlisle in 1803. John died in 1842 and Ann in 1834. Their children were: William FRASER 1809-1818 Alexander FRASER 1811-1818 Margaret FRASER 1817-1818 Burns FRASER 1815-1818 Duncan FRASER b 1807, a stone mason, enlisted 30th regt Bermuda, he died a bachelor age 33 John FRASER b 1805, a stone mason, married to Mary SANDERSON, died without issue in Newcastle upon Tyne 1875 Hugh FRASER, b 1813, a millwright at Carlisle, married at Gretna in 1839 to Ann Amelia CLEMINSTON, their two children were 1. John Duncan FRASER b Carlisle 1846, an engineer, married Ann Eliza LIDDEL and had children John Alexander FRASER 1872, Margaret Ann FRASER 1874, Thomas FRASER 1876 2. Alexander FRASER b 1850, an engineer, married Sarah Ann CRUM, and had children James FRASER 1874, John Duncan FRASER 1875, William FRASER 1880. Polly
