I am at present working with some other members of the CFHS to index all the wills at Carlisle up to 1800 and to put the results on CD. It is something of a long term project, I'm affraid. In the meantime, I think there are just the books although some years have already been transferred to film and are in the drawers with the Parish Register films. If you want to speed things up, perhaps you'd like to join our group! The books are all very well but for anything after about the 1880s its necessary to keep asking staff to get the books from the back room so a detailed search (for after 1900s) is impractical.
