Hi, I'm trying to build a link back from GOTOBED's in Chesterton in 1772 to Ely/Littleport (where I'm sure they originally came from). I have a William and Elizabeth GOTOBED having children christened in Chesterton from 1772 onwards, but no hint of where they came from (or the wife's maiden name). If this was their first child, I would guess they were both born around 1750-ish and married around 1770-ish - possibly all events in the same village? Does anyone have any information on possible contenders - perhaps a William on a family tree somewhere who sort of "disappeared" after getting married to an Elizabeth? I will happily purchase appropriate fiches if a likely locality can be found. John RILEY Normandy
