Hi Mo, Many thanks, that is the right BURTON family and it looks like Betsey lived to be at least 12 so she is a possibility. The younger Eliza would be only 14/15 in 1873 and she may be still unmarried and working in Cambridge in 1881. I can't find this Betsey in later censuses. George JOHNSON that I found in 1851 age 1 month had parents Read and Hannah JOHNSON. This age and place of birth ties in with the army records of the one which is definitely the father of the child born in 1873. In 1871 Read, Annie (Hannah) and a daughter Jane age 12 years were living in Long Drove, Hadddenham. The Elizabeth JOHNSON pauper if circa 75 years old is Read's mother. Interesting that she is living with an UFFINDELL. Please could you send me a bit more info on Sarah UFFINDELL as there are 2 of same age on 1851 census, one married, one single just in case there is a link between Elizabeth and Sarah. Cheers Sarah
