    1. 1851 census look up

    3. I am hoping that someone may be able to help me. I have been relatively successful in unearthing information about my great great great grandfather, John Nelson who was born about 1828 in Croydon cum Clopton. However, since the 1841 census in which his sister is listed as Kitty Hagger (on account of his mothers marriage to James Hagger) I have been unable to trace Kitty Nelson or his mother Biddy (Bridget). Kitty was born about 1832. I am hoping that if someone has access to the 1851 Cambridge census records they can check on these two people for me. Thanks

    1. Wild guess on Kitty Hagger

    3. Dear Diane, I can't find either Kitty or Biddy on the 1851 census (but I'm no expert) - however, Kitty is usually short for Catherine, and you might get something from a Catherine CHAPMAN of the correct age, born in Croydon, who appears on the 1881 and 1891 censuses as born in Croydon, Cambs. Her husband is William, ag. lab., also born in Croydon, but unfortunately I can't find their marriage, so I can't confirm what is only a wild guess. They have several children's christenings on the IGI. Estelle >I am hoping that someone may be able to help me.
