    3. I have my Family Tree Maker Version 8 in a old computer used just for the tree, I want to down load everything to a Floppy disc, but am not sure how to, the instructions say to select a file. Is the Tree Maker a file. Sylvia.

    3. I only have version 5 (with Windows 98), but presumably the procedure is much the same. Try: 1. Start FTM and open the family file you want to download (just whatever it opens at, if you only have the one). 2. Select 'File' from the top bar, then 'Copy/Export Family File'. 3. You will get a box headed 'New Family File' which allows you to select a place to save the new file - use the 'Up One Level' icon to go up to 'My Computer' then select your floppy drive. Give the file a name, and select 'Save' - this will save a copy of your family file to the floppy disc. If your family file is pretty big (which mine certainly is) you might need to do something more complicated to fit it on the floppy. Good luck, Estelle >I have my Family Tree Maker Version 8 in a old computer used just for the >tree, I want to down load everything to a Floppy disc, but am not sure how >to, the instructions say to select a file.
