    1. Edward SMITH - 1881
    2. Kay Simpkins
    3. I am trying to trace my father's line, my grandfather was a James Bowley Smith, and was the youngest son of Edward and Sarah. I have found the family in 1901 and 1891 at Welches Dam, Cambridgeshire, though his aged moved from 55 in 1901 to 42 in 1891. He was an Agricultural worker and Publican, born in Whaplode Drove, Lincolnshire. The family I have found in 1881 which matches best is an Edward aged 33 of Catchcold, Lincoln, at Leicester Road, Whitwick, Leics, aged 33 as a coal miner. He had 2 children at this time Elizabeth (who I think is a Charlotte Elizabeth known as Lizzie) aged 6 and a Samuel aged 2, living with them was a Mahala HULL, as a visitor, but Sarah was HULL before she was married so I think this must be Sarah's sister, and this is why I believe it is that family (probably mis-guided as ever). The problem is I cannot find Catchcold in Lincolnshire, and the FHS there does not know it either. I am wondering if it is a translation error on the Family Search pages, and if there is someone who could check it for me. Edwards's parents I believe were John Smith and Elizabeth Bowley. Any help, clues, ideas, would be very welcome with all my lines seeming to wander all over the country. Kind Regards
