    3. Hi Derek, I don't have a connection to the Chamberlain family but I do have ancestors who came from Lincolnshire, hence having some records for that county. The BVRI cd like the IGI has been transcribed by volunteers etc. so there could be mistakes in reading some of the names. You would really have to look at the original records yourself to be 100% sure of the transcriptions. Do you have a LDS Family History Centre near you? I don't know whether you are familiar with the BVRI's but they don't cover all areas & dates, but you can be lucky. There was another marriage at Whaplode which may help in deciding the correct name Hog/Nog as it seems that maybe two sisters married into the Chamberlain family CHAMBERLAIN Martin, son of William Chamberlain married Sarah Molsher HOGG,18, daughter of Henry Molsher Hogg. 28th October 1839. The first baptism to appear in the Whaplode registers for children of William & Ann was in 1809. CHAMBERLAIN Mary Ann 18th June 1809 CHAMBERLAIN John 20th September 1812 CHAMBERLAIN Martin 1st December 1816 CHAMBERLAIN Elizabeth 18th April 1819 CHAMBERLAIN Ann 20th January 1822 HARVEY Edward Pearson, son of Edward Harvey & Ann CHAMBERLAIN, daughter of William Chamberlain 5th January 1847 at Braceborough, Linc. I had another look on the National Burial Index and there were no entries for an Ann Chamberlain about 1848 in Linc. Re. baptism of William Chamberlain at Gedney-Hill, Linc. the only way I can confirm this at the moment is via the IGI site. The entry does come from the Parish registers, and it could well be your William. He could have been born in Thornley & baptised at Gedney-Hill. Best wishes, Jennie
