    3. Hello listers, Is there anyone else searching for the name GILSON? I am at a loss. I have got back to Richard GILSON buried 1744 at Brotherton Yorkshire and cannot find where or when he was born. I was told that there are a lot of GILSON surnames in Cambridgeshire.....maybe he came from there. I have searched everywhere for his birth but I think maybe he was from another county...not Yorkshire. If anyone can help me with any information I would really appreciate it. ~~ Denise ~~~ Australia.

    3. Hi Denise, You are right about there being a lot of Gilsons in the Cambridgeshire area, mine came from the adjacent county, Huntingdonshire and go back to John, born in the early 1700's. Unfortunately the name Richard does not figure very prominently in my records so i'm unable to help at the moment. Good luck with the search.
