My great grandfather x 2 was William GIRLING , I believe this is him: birth 04/04/1852, christening 8th July 1855 Wilby, Suffolk , Parents Abraham and Emily GIRLING. He was living in Skirlaugh ERY on the 1881 census. I found who I believe to be his father at Syleham, Suffolk : Head Abraham Girling aged 61 b Syleham occ Brush maker Wife Emily GIRLING aged 60 b Wilby Grand daughter Emily Chenery aged 12 b Syleham occ scholar census place: Syleham Nearby there was an Albert Chenery b Thorpes Abbotts, Norfolk aged 38 with wife Emma Chenery aged 36 b Hoxne, Suffolk and daughters Lousa aged 2 and Ellen aged 1 . Could they be Emily's parents and sisters?and could they be found on the 1871 census please. Also if there is anyone who knows or is researching these families. I was told that William had walked all the way from Diss to Holderness (nr Hull) looking for work. Thanks Annette in Sardinia
