I am trying to sort out the ANDERSON families in Bassingbourn, not helped by the fact that one of my ANDERSON ancestors married another ANDERSON from Therfield. I have identified the following ANDERSON families in Bassingbourn from the 1841 census: David (b 1815) and Mary (b 1815) with child Emma (b 1838). HO107/63/3/8A Joseph and Mary with children Simion (b 1820) Nary (b 1822 c 1823) Ann (b 1825) Joseph (b 1825 c1827) Lydia (b 1828 c 1830) William (b 1831 c 1832) Sarah (b 1835 c 1837) Eli (b 1835 c1837) and Job (b 1838). HO107/63/3 12A John and Lydia (both b 1820) HO107/63/5 7A Mary (b 1829) HO107/63/6 2B Mary (b 1805) and Sarah (b 1827) HO107/63/6 7B By 1851 Joseph and Mary's son Joseph had married Elizabeth (b 1829) and had a daughter Martha aged 1. HO107/1708 229B. Their daughter Eliza (15) was still living in Bassingbourn. HO107/1708 244B. William and Job had been joined by Hanna (aged 8) and Reuben aged 5. HO107/1708 249A. Simon had married Charlotte (aged 30) and had children Martha (6) and Charles (1 mo). HO107/1708 275A. Ann had married John ANDERSON from Therfield and had a daughter Rachel (1) and was living with them. HO107/1708 275A Mary (45) and Sarah (25) are still living together in Bassingbourn with Samuel ANDERSON (56) William (3) and Sarah (1). HO107/1708 290A Another family Charles (27) and Mary (32) have appeared.
