Does anyone have links to a STANTON family who lived in Leverington? Samuel and Mary STANTON had a son Stephen bap at Leverington 3 April 1792. He married and Elizabeth TODD who was born in Irthlingborough. They had three children, Stephen (b1817) Samuel (b 1818, d 1819) and Elizabeth (b1819). Elizabeth, the mother, died after having Elizabeth in 1819. I have not been able to track the family any further. Young Stephen and Elizabeth are mentioned in the Will of a Mary CONWORTH and Elizabeth, the mother, was a niece of Mary's. Young Elizabeth is supposed to have married a John TYARS (according to Mary C's will) but she is NOT the Elizabeth Tyars who appears in censuses of Wisbech - that Elizabeth was older and not born in the area. There is a large STANTON family tombstone just to the right when you come out of the door of Leverington church. I look forward to hearing from anyone who knows of this family.
