    3. Any researchers of the MANSFIELD family out there? Can anyone give me absolute verification of the line of this STEPHEN MAN(S)FIELD. STEPHEN MANSFIELD married ELIZABETH WATSON at St Cyriac & St Mary, Swaffham Prior on 17 November, 1789. Paul Chapman has kindly given me information directly from the parish records that a Stephen, almost certainly mine, whose parents are WILLIAM MANSFIELD & ALICE NEWMAN, and he was baptised on 15 May 1774, at possible age 8, given the death information below. Stephen died in 1836 at given age 70 and was buried at St Mary's Swaffham Bulbeck. HOWEVER, we had tagged him as a "possible" descendant of John Mansfield & Jane Wetherhell/Wetherall because he had a WILLIAM WETHERALL as a witness at his wedding. This was also due to lack of easy access to the original copies of Swaffham Prior Parish Records, here in Australia. ALSO, another connecting tag, the NEWMAN family married into our family in 1859 at Burwell. Wynnette Ford, formerly Blanchard, nee Mansfield Formerly of Tasmania, now of Queensland, Australia.

    3. Quite a bit of research has been done on the Man(s)field lines - my own interests centre on West Wratting and Weston Colville, though I do have data on other branches as well. I believe that the Stephen Mansfield who married Elizabeth Watson was almost certainly the son of John Man(s)field & Jane Wetherell. John & Jane's son was baptised 12 Jan 1766 at Balsham. This would fit exactly with the Stephen who died aged 70 in 1836. This family of Man(s)fields becomes difficult from here back as there are several lines of thought on where John Man(s)field fits into the bigger family picture. Pam Cooper Qld, Australia
