John, Just a remote possibility that Ellen might have been an older sister or other family member ? If you have access to Lincolnshire records I would appreciate your help concerning Thomas William SCRAFIELD and his brother John William, both of whom were living in Cambridge about 1841, no trace of them subsequently. Could they have returned to Lincs where they had family connections ? Regards, Tony
Tony, I can access census returns for the South Holland area - Spalding,Holbeach etc but not much further into the County. Whereabouts are you looking? Do you have ages for these brothers. Could they have died? As regards Ellen she married George at St Edwards, Cambridge on 5 August 1816 per IGI. She was a FRANCES. Obviously the entry needs verification but it appears that she was from Saffron Walden Essex and was widowed at the time of her marriage. Her daughter was born there c1806.
