Hi, Listers I'm new to this list. My family connections are mostly with Norfolk but I'm trying to track down one of my ancestors who was born in Cambridgeshire: Lilly Salisbury BULL, b. 1877, Cambridge. Lilly's father was Alfred BULL, b. 1847 in Landbeach. In 1877, he married Catherine MORLEY, b. 1849, Dublin, Ireland but whose family ties were mostly with Norfolk. Catherine died in 1878, a year after Lilly was born. And, according to FreeBMD, June qtr. 1883, one Alfred BELL died, age 36, in Cambridge, 3b, 327. This explains why the 13-yr-old Lilly appears on the 1891 census for Kensington Road, Lakenham, Norwich, living with her widowed step-grandmother, Mary Ann MORLEY. Lilly's uncle, William MORLEY et al, lived just a couple of doors down. I've been trying to look for Lilly under her possible married name. On searching FreeBMD, a Mar 1894 marriage entry shows for Lilly. Possible grooms: Edward ROGERS or Thomas KNOWLSON. Barton Regis, Gloucestershire. If any of you have connections to the BULL/BELL/BALL, family of Landbeach, Cambridgeshire, I'd be very interested in hearing from you. And, if this helps, in 1881 Alfred BULL was boarding with the LAMB family of Cambridge. Alfred's occupation was listed as "Grocer." Looking forward to hearing from any fellow researchers.
