    3. Hi Robyn I do indeed have a William Clark in my tree, who is James's grandfather. I do not have any details about him, but I would estimate he would have been born around 1760-1770. I have not yet found a link to the Rider family, but the timescale could fit. I'll keep looking. I have a Thomas Clark b. abt 1740 m Elizabeth Rider 23/10/1770 Little Shelford, His brother William Clark bap 12/02/1732 m Alice Cornell 11/10/1757 at Little Shelford following his death in Jan 1767 Alice m Joseph Rider 28/11/1769 also at little Shelford. The William Clark mentioned in the Will of Joseph Rider is his step son the child of William Clark and Alice Cornell.     3. Hi Syd, This ties in with what I had, but at the moment, I am having serious doubts as to whether I have the right family. My great grandfather was Joel Clark who was born in Guilden Morden around 1832, but I cannot prove his parents names. I thought I had them sorted, but I now have my doubts and am wondering if I am pursuing the correct family line. I know his father was James, but there are two of them about at this time. The one I originally thought was right does indeed tie in with your information, but I have the feeling I may be wrong.
