Hello Is there a census index for the different years for Cambridge? if so is it online free or is there one you can buy to have at home or is it a pay per view type thing. My other question is in the mid to late 1800's how big was Upend Kirtling is it what you call a village or is it a town as I don't have any idea about the place back then with they progress over the years it hard to know if what it is like today is the sort of size it would have been any help on the place or the census would be gratefully received Regards Janice
Janice, Just look on the Cambridge fhs site. There are several searchable databases on there including 1841/51 census.
