Hello Listers I have just joined this list, as I have recently discovered that my wifes first cousin once removed, "James Edwin CRADDOCK" was a POW in the far east during WW2. He was with the Royal Engineers and unfortunately he died in singapore in 1944. He was married to a school mistress called Jean Freda who lived in Cambridge. I do not know her surname, and would appreciate any help with regard to her family name and their wedding date. James was also a school master, who went to live in Cambridge. According to 1837online.com a James E CRADDOCK married a CRADDOCK in the March quarter of 1937. I have tried a search on FREEBMD without success. I live in South Staffs so do not have access to local Cambridgeshire records. Please could someone help. There's a 1941 marriage of James Craddock to Jean Phillips on http://www.camcnty.gov.uk/sub/register/cambsindex.htm , with reference numbers 331/CE026/04/77/1 and 331/CE026/04/77/2 - maybe these are yours.
