    3. In 1841 Henry's occupation looks to be Farmer. I must confess that if I had been the transcriber I too would have transcribed Rachel as Machal, the same as Ancestry! Cambs FHS has an excellent website at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html which includes a baptism index 1801-37. As they seem to have married at Whittlesey (member submission, therefore unreliable, on IGI) perhaps that was Henry's home parish rather than Ann's. The baptism index has a Henry baptised in 1806 in Whittlesey which could just fit with an 1841 census age of 30 ie if he was born in the second half of 1806 he would have been 34 in June 1841 which would have been rounded down to 30 in the census. Sawtry All Saints burials on the NBI only go up to 1837 so you would need to check the parish register. There's a death on FreeBMD of Henry Jones in the March quarter 1847 in Huntingdon registration district (which includes Sawtry). This is the only death of a Henry Jones in Hunts 1841-61. Similarly there are two Ann Jones deaths in Hunts in the same period, the first of which was in June 1844 in Huntingdon registration district. Regards David Shell Leo <[email protected]> a écrit : Henry Jones born c. 1811 in Cambridgeshire. He married Ann Rowell born c.1806 Huntington. We have found a record of their marriage on 1 May 1826. On the 1871 Census Henry is shown as being 30 but is unclear what occupation he holds. Ann is shown as being 35. At this time they have six children living with them, Henry (8), William (13), Thomas (10), Sarah (6), John (3) and Rachel mis-transcribed as Machel (15). Unfortunately we have been unable to trace a death date for Henry mainly because of the name being very common during this time, however we have a date of c. 1847 for Ann. Generation 3 Rachel Jones who was born c.1826 and baptised on 8 March 1828. She married William Peach on 8 November 1842 by Banns in the parish of Sawtrey All Saints, Huntington. What is interesting is that in the age column on the marriage certificate it states that both William and Rachel were under age. This is interesting and draws many more questions than it answers. On the 1841 Census Rachel is shown as being aged 15 and living with her parents Henry and Ann along with her siblings. (Please see census information for Henry) On the 1851 Census Rachel is shown as being 24. William is shown as being 28 and a farm labourer. At this time they have two children Susan (6) a scholar and Thomas (2). hi just thought i would re post my jones limited info from camb thanks Michele ____________________________________________________________________________________ Food fight?
