Hi Carolyn I'm pretty sure we have the same people in our trees. I have scant information on a possible matching couple : George CHALLIS, born 1864 Sawston, died 1934 married Louisa UKNOWN, b 1860, died 1942 George's was the eldest of 6 children to Arthur James Challis (1832-1903) and Ruth Nicholls (1832-1917). Arthur was married previously to Julia unknown. No occupation details for George, but Arthur was an Auctioneer. FTM calculates George as my 2nd cousin 4 times removed. I shall have to post to the list more often :-] Look forward to hearing from (offlist if you'd prefer) Denise > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > Carolyn McCartney > Sent: 12 April 2007 00:10 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [ENG-CAMS] Interesting website - suprising result/Challis > > Denise > Thanks for sharing that about Google Books - I had heard of > it but had no idea one could find obituaries. > I have a George Challis in my tree who married Louisa Barker > and they lived in Sawston.
