I am trying to check out more information on my husband’s family history, which as you will know is never as easy as doing your own as you do not know the background information fully, nor in this case the area as my father in law moved away around 1933. John and Sarah were my husband's great grandparents, and Alice was his Grandmother. His late father gave me a list of his mother's siblings, which I have below, but I have been unable to qualify 3 of them via census records. Can anyone advise me as to how I can confirm the validity of them? JOHN RUMBELOW was born Abt. 1848 in West Row Mildenhall, Suffolk. He married SARAH OKEY abt Dec 1870 in Vol 3b Page 1173 - Ely. Cambridgeshire. John died in an accident on the Great Eastern Railways - he was hit by a train. Burial took place after the issue of a Coroners Certificate. Some claim he was station master, but other documents claim railway labourer/plate layer. They lived at Chettisham but moved to Clayway Drove between 1881 and 1891. ELIZA PAMELA RUMBELOW, b. Abt. 1885, Clayway Drove, Ely,; d. 1955. FREDERICK RUMBELOW, b. Jun 1887, Ely, Cambs; d. 03 May 1917, Arras, France Remembered with honour on the Arras Memorial; m. HILDA. ANNE RUMBELOW, b. Abt. Jun 1889, Clayway Drove, Ely, Cambridgeshire, England; d. Abt. 1959, Possibly Travelled/ Died On Titanic Not found on listings, but could have been married. SIDNEY RUMBELOW, b. Abt. Sep 1894, ,Ely, Cambridgeshire, England; d. Abt. 1964.
