Hi Jon, I found Emma on the Ancestry 1841 census as you said but found the name Cropley difficult to read and would never have known what it was if it hadn't been for the transcription. She was not born in Cambrigeshire. It shows her living with James Cropley aged 40, I think it says he was a Grocer but again, it is difficult to read.Living in Magdalene Street. Born in Cambridgeshire. Sub-registration district St.Giles, Civil parish St.Peter. Good luck, Julie. Thanks to Julie, Julia, Margaret and Lauretta for replies to my request. They're all much appreciated. I'm still not sure whether the Emma in Cambridge in 1841 is mine, but I now have Emma in Camberwell, Surrey, in 1851. Regards Jon
