Hi Gwen, I also have Peacock connections within my family from Soham, and although Robert Peacock is not a direct ancestor I do have some information on him and his family. Robert Peacock married Sarah Johnson 7 June 1840 in St. Andrews Church, Soham. I also have the dates of his children's baptisms. I also have the Soham Parish registers on microfiche (up to 1875), so I am able to research the Soham families quite readily. If you would like to contact me off list, I would be more than willing to help in anyway I can. Best wishes, Jennie Hudson, Hervey Bay, Qld
Another way of finding the marriage is on the CAMDEX site. This shows Robert Peacock's marriage to Sarah Johnson in 1840. I'm afraid I missed the original posting re the PEACOCKs of Soham, but I have a Lydia PEACOCK, born circa 1809, Soham, who married Thomas HAINES in 1829, Soham. Their daughter Mary HAINES, born circa 1843, Littleport, was my stepmother's Great Grandmother, and married William LYTHELL on 8 Oct 1864 at Downham, Cambridgeshire. Any help to discover the identity of Lydia PEACOCK's parents would be very welcome, and it would be nice, too, to exchange info with other interested researchers. Other names being researched in Cambridgeshire include OAKEY/OAKY (Ely and Littleport), PETTITT, BUTCHER, FLACK, TUCK, CAMBRIDGE and COOPER (mostly Harston and Littleport).
