Hi Gwen and Patricia I also have a PEACOCK connection in Soham, same line as Gwen's but from William's brother Robert who married Charlotte in 1867and had 9 children that I know of. I have followed some of Roberts siblings lines and also some of his children at least up to 1901 so happy to compare notes. I also have a vague connection to the name SHIPP a Doris born abt 1911 who married a BRITTAIN but no other info. Hi Tracey, I haven't researched the PEACOCKS a lot and really only have what I said in my note to Patricia. However, the past few days I have been looking at them through the Censuses. I have found a Robert PEACOCK married to Sarah ?? who appear to be the parents of Robert born about 1847 and William born about 1853. Other children are:- Mary born about 1841 Susan born about 1843 James born about 1846 *Lydia born about 1850 George born about 1855 John born about 1857 Benjamin born about 1862 *Lydia born about 1865. *I presume the first Lydia had died. As on the '41 Census, Mary was only 2 mos. old, I presumed that Robert and Sarah were married about 1838/40. I looked on the FreeBMD and found a marriage for Robert PEACOCK in the June Qtr 1840 Vol 14 page 155. I looked for names on the same page and found that there were two Sarahs - Sarah JOHNSON and Sarah SHINN. Do you know which one it was? Robert PEACOCK died sometime between 1891 and 1901 as in 1901 Sarah is a widow and living with son, George who doesn't seem to have married. One other thing in 1881 Robert and Sarah have living with them a grandson, William HART. Do you have any information on him? Would love to have anything else that you have to add to the above information. Thanks for any help that you can give.
