Steve, Pertaining to this Scharvaumore...could there have possibly been a Southmore at the time somewhere close by? Since Sam's obit was written in 1903 and he was 88 when he died...perhaps if he were on his deathbed relating his story with an english accent, I can imagine Southmore could've sounded like Scharvaumore.
