Hi Lesley, Yes they is a very big group here in Bairnsdale of which I am a member. Genealogical society it is one of the biggest in East Gippsland, it's called East Gippsland family History Group, many books, shipping records, CD's galore and microfiche machines, unfortunately we seem to have a lot of members that are not taking advantage off the versatilities that the club has. There seems to be a small active group compared to the membership. I join about two years ago after coming back from a 33 year stay in Rockhampton Qld. and it open my eyes to see the CD's alone to track down the past pioneers, families birth death and marriages.
