Hi Joy, There are a number of researchers who have put a lot of work into the Marsh family of West Wratting and neighbouring parishes - perhaps some of them have already responded to your query?? The Robert Marsh you mention was baptized 2 March 1783 at West Wratting. Bennet's maiden name was GILBEY. I am connected to the family a number of times, although I don't descend from them. I have quite a lot of data on the MARSH ancestry and a little on the GILBEYS. Please contact me direct at kpcooper@bigpond.net.au if you would like further info. My question is this- can I find out where Thomas was born by his marriage banns in Holy Trinity, or perhaps by the parish records of All Saints Cambridge where his sons were baptised ? I suspect he may have been born in Balsham in 1805, the son of Robert and Bennet Marsh. If any lister has interests in Marsh of Balsham, or can steer me in the right direction to verify my Thomas Marshs' origins I would be really pleased to hear from you.
