I too could not find a Thomas with George or James 1841 Yorkshire census but I did find an 8 year old Thomas Mitchell in 1841 with Ann Shore 55ys and Martha Shore 15yr. Then in 1851 19yr Thomas Mitchell with father George and Sarah Shaw 72yr mother in law. Wondering if this is a possible match. Shore/Shaw ?

My main reservation with this Thomas is his birthplace - Yorks in 1841 and Wakefield Yorks in 1851, with no indication that the family in 1851 had ever set foot outside Wakefield, whereas in 1861 in Hartlepool he gave his birthplace as Northants Peterhead. As I can only find one Peterhead, and that's in Scotland, I assume it's an enumeration error for Peterborough, which was in Northamptonshire at that time. The search continues!
