    3. Hello Sharon, >From Ashwell PR Transcripts: 25 April 1703 Robert PASSELL & Ann PLOMER married According to the Cambridgeshire FHS Baptismal Index, there are no PLOMER baptisms from 1603-1702 although there are a batch in Leverington in the mid to late 1500s and a batch at Cambridge Holy Trinity in the late 1550s, a couple at Ickleton and a couple at Kennet also mid to late 1500s - perhaps worth bearing in mind if you get back earlier. Likewise no baptism shown for Robert in Cambridgeshire under any of the various spellings of his surname. However, there are the following baptisms at Litlington to Robert and Ann according to the Litlington PR Transcripts: 25 December 1706 Robert PARCELL 22 April 1708 Mary PARCELL 28 September 1709 John PARCELL 1 October 1710 Elizabeth PARCELL 6 October 1713 Plummer PARCELL Burials at Litlington: 17 August 1750 Eliz PASSELL, wife of Rob 6 May 1788 Robert PASSEL (Bishops Transcripts husbandman) No marriages of any of the children at Litlington that I can see on the Transcripts. Going back to Ashwell PR Transcripts: 26 March 1704 Anne PASSELL daughter Robert & Anne baptised 5 November 1705 Sarah PASSELL daughter Robert & Anne baptised buried 22 January 1705/6 23 September 1709 John PASSELL son Robert, labourer, buried 6 October 1720 Robert PASSEL of Litlington Cambs buried 13 July 1736 Anne PASSELL, widow Unfortunately, not all of the records are complete prior to 1686 (there is a gap between Mar 1676 & April 1685 & another one between 1640 & 1660 which are just the timescales you are interested in) on the transcripts but here are the ones which could be relevant to you: 19 April 1664 Richard PLOMER son William & Alice baptised 24 September 1664 George PLOMER son John & Sarah baptised 2 July 1666 Elizabeth PASSELL daughter William & Joane baptised 17 September 1666 William PASSELL, paterfamilias buried 6 September 1667 Sarah PLOMER daughter John & Sarah buried 15 December 1667 Susan PASSELL wife John buried November 1670 Willyam PLOMER son Samuel & Ann baptised 13 November 1670 Ann wife Samuel PLOMER buried 16 May 1671 Willyam PASSILL son John & Miriam baptised 11 October 1671 John PLOMER & Ann GODFERY married There are others prior to 1664 but unless we can determine which of the above are the appropriate parents for your Robert & Anne, it will just complicate things totally. If Ann PLOMER's father is supposed to be a John (how do you know this by the way??), there would appear to be 2 candidates - the John who married Ann GODFERY (presumably GODFREY which is what HALS Online MI shows it as) and the John PLOMER married to a Sarah. Of course, the John who married Ann could be a son of the John & Sarah but the relevant records are missing. However, you may just be lucky in that on the National Archives Documents Online site () are the following wills which could just help you sort out who were the parents of Robert & Anne (downloadable online at the cost of £3.50 each): 13 April 1728 Mary GODFREY, widow, of Ashwell (perhaps Ann's grandmother??) 9 March 1717 Joan PASSELL, widow, of Ashwell (could perhaps be Robert's grandmother??) 2 December 1715 John GODFREY, gentleman, Ashwell (perhaps Ann's grandfather??) 12 November 1666 William PLOMER, yeoman, Ashwell 5 February 1666 William PLOMER, yeoman, Ashwell 23 November 1651 Edward PLOMER, tanner, Ashwell I think Joan PASSELL's will is definitely worth speculating on and maybe one of the GODFREY wills too. If they are connected to your families, they could give you valuable information especially in view of the missing parish register records. >From the HALS Online Marriage Index (www.hertsdirect.org/libsleisure/heritage1/HALS/ - click on Hertfordshire Names Online and then use the search boxes): 25 July 1741 Plummer PASSELL of Biggleswade, Beds & Mary LAYTON of Ashwell at Letchworth Lots of other PASSEL(L) & PARCEL(L) & PLOMER records so could be worth a look for you. HTH a little Janet

    3. Hi Janet, thank you so very much for your prompt reply but especially for the time and effort you took in doing this for me. It seems that you have given me a lot to think about and update on my tree. Now that I know that there were some Wills, I most certainly will be getting them. What a pot of gold you have found for me. Thanks once again.
