Hi all I'm researching my gg grandfather William Henry BROWN, who was baptised at Forham on 3-Aug-1800. William is proving to be a very interesting character and I've just uncovered a record that shows he was a convict who was sent to VDL in 1844. On the convict indent there is a notation that he was a constable at Fordham for 6 years and that for two years he lived with Squire Tharp. Does anyone know if there would be records covering local constables? Also, I understand the Tharp family were somewhat famous/notorious and wondered if anyone has come across them in their research?
