Thank you Paula, David and Julie for this info. Seems my little brick wall is still standing!! BUT I have found an article from The Times newspaper (19th March 1834) referring to a court case re the father George Alston in 1834, held in Cambridge before Mr. Baron Vaughan. Dare I ask if anyone would know who or where I might contact to look at this court case a bit closer. And get a transcript of the case? I have had a look at the Cambridgeshire FHS web page, but nothing mentioned there.
