    3. After a long absence, I have rejoined the list and never seen it this quiet ; ) Am researching the WHALEY family in Elm and hope to tie this line to the WHALEYs in Wimblington, but for right now---just wondering if anyone else connects to this family? JOHN WHALEY b c 1784 married Mary LEPLA b c 1786 on 25 Feb 1804 in Manea, Cambs Mary died 1831 in Elm. John Whaley may be the one who was transported in 1840 (for sheep stealing) to Australia as he cannot be found in 1841 census onward? (If it is same JOHN WHALEY, the sentence was for 10 years.) Their children were: Hannah b c1804 married Joseph SCOTT 9 Oct 1825 Mary b c 1806 married James BALDING 30 Oct 1827 Susannah b c 1809 Margaret b c 1810, died 1813 Joshua b c 1811, married Mary Ann HOLTHAM 29 July 1832, died between 1841-1851??? William b c 1814, died 1826 Margaret b c 1816, died 1816 Sarah b 1817, married John POWLEY 1837, died 1 May 1883 John b c 1819, died 1820 Celia b c 1821, married David POWLEY 1839, died after 1880 Margaret b c 1825, married Willaim THORPE 18 Aug 1845 William b c 1828, married Harriett PARKINSON Would love to hear from anyone with info on this group.
