Hello Kay, Cambridgeshire FHS Baptismal Index has an entry for a Roger SIMPKIN baptised in 1722 at Stetchworth - no further details unfortunately as it is only an Index. There is also a baptism at Stetchworth in 1720 for a William SIMPKIN - could he be William & Elizabeth's first child perhaps, given the date of their marriage?? Can't find a likely baptism for William snr on the Index however, so perhaps he was not Cambridgeshire born. Looking at the Index for other SIMPKIN (and variants) born after 1719 at either Wood Ditton or Stetchworth, have come up with the following: 1726 at Stetchworth Elizabeth SIMPKIN 1728 at Stetchworth Catherine SIMKEN 1728 at Stetchworth Mary SIMKIN 1738 at Stetchworth Elizabeth SIMPKIN 1738 at Wood Ditton Ann SIMKING 1738 at Wood Ditton Francis SIMKING There is also a Mary SIMKIN baptised 1706 at Stetchworth, a Leonard SIMPIN baptised 1708 at Stetchworth, a Daniel SIMKEN baptised 1714 at Wood Ditton plus a Daniel SIMPKIN baptised 1714 at Wood Ditton (the latter two presumably being the same person with alternative spellings). Do any of these ring any bells with you?? The only baptism I can find on the Index for an Elizabeth SIZER (and variants) at Stetchworth is in 1670 which would seem to be somewhat early for your Elizabeth. There is however a baptism in 1687 at Swaffham P St Mary (not too far away from Stetchworth) for an Elizabeth SIZER which could be relevant to you. Remember, a lot of the records on the IGI are not even accurate - extracted ones are more likely to be so - and are not necessarily complete. PR Trancriptions done by the local FHS are more likely to be correct because they know the area, but the only real way to be sure is to consult the microfilm of the actual parish registers available either from the local Record Office (not so feasible in your case) or by hiring the film to view in situ at your local LDS Family History Centre. You will find the location of this by searching on the Family Search website home page. I think I would start at Stetchworth with the marriage of William & Elizabeth and see if there are any other clues on the parish register (such as where William was from at the time of the marriage) and take it from there.
