    3. Dear Rootswebber Listers, I'm a new recruit and I would be grateful for help or directions or references to pursue my search. Ref IKLETON in CAMBS I have traced my CHRISTMAS TREE back to a ROBERT Christmas who was clergyman at CHOBHAM CHURCH in Surrey in circa 1640, son of Nicholas C of Ickleton. No age or other info so far. This scanty info came from the custodian of CHRISTMAS One Name Study Guild. Maybe that was his burial year. He most probably had a BA from CAMBRIDGE or Oxford Universiies a qualification that many other Christmases had to aquire to become clergymen. I have not yet come across any of these others in my tree. I have visited the church on family history search 'hoidays' to UK from New Zealand and I have seen his name listed with all other clergymen of that church on the 'ceiling' of the entrance 'lychgate ?' roof At the IGS family history Centre this evening, in the limited time available, I came across about 3 Roberts 1. Bapt at Ickleton (close to Cambridge University and a likely student) in 1573 which would have made him 67 in 1640. 2 Bapt 29 Dec 1603, buried at Ickleton, at St Mary Magdelene church Cambs. 3 Bapt or Christened about 1604 at Guildford. Parents John C and his wife Alice nee Underwood. I look forward to any assistance. Kind regards, Ray Christmas in New Zealand.
