?Does anyone have access or an address where I can inquire about Parish Apprentice Records for Cambridgesire ..especially Ely..? I am looking for a Nightall who was apprenticed as a Sawyer..He could be listed under the name of Townshend as well..He said he was born in 1797 but at the same time one of census records for 1851 said he was born in 1801..and that he went by John then..but all of the other census records where I could find him all say he was born in Ely and around 1797..give or take a year.. ?I think he might have been born around there and took the name of Nightall when he apprenticed out and possibly to Thomas Nightall a sawyer living in Ely..Did he take the name of the family by chance? Am down to shooting in the dark as I cannot find a birth record for him anywhere in Ely..under the name of Nightall..It was also spelled Nitall ,Knightall, Nightale, Knightle, etc..I have his marriage in Ely to Mary Taylor..but nothing before that.. ?
