    3. I wonder if any Lister has this woman as an ancestor. She was convicted of Larceny in 1806 and transported for 7 years. She was 'ux' of John Single, and may have had children. She arrived with other female convicts on the 'Sydney Cove' in 1807. Recors are difficult to find, but it appears she was either assigned to or had formed a relationship with a passenger on the 'Sydney Cove', named Samuel Foster, a Gentleman of Birmingham. She gave birth to a daughter Mary in 1809 and this child although named Mary Single was recorded on the Muster of 1811 as mary Foster and Ann has a notation beside her name, 'wife of Samuel Foster'. these 3 persons returned to Birmingham in 1818, and Samuel Foster died the following year, leaving Ann 'his housekeeper' ( for he was married , but estranged from his wife) well provided for and his daughter Mary inherited all his substantial wealth. He also left Ann's son John Single some money. I have searched for a marriage for Ann and found an Ann Gray marrying John Single in 1793 at St Giles. I cannot find the birth of a child John , however. I am really anxious to learn more about Ann and her life and family in Cambridgeshire. Did she return to her husband and children after 1819? Also I am not quite certain how to acquire her trial papers. I would be grateful for any help or information. Many thanks Gloria
